For years, Grace has watched the wolves in the woods behind her house. One yellow-eyed wolf--her wolf--is a chilling presence she can't seem to live without. Meanwhile, Sam has lived two lives: In winter, the frozen woods, the protection of the pack, and the silent company of a fearless girl. In summer, a few precious months of being human . . . until the cold makes him shift back again.
Now, Grace meets a yellow-eyed boy whose familiarity takes her breath away. It's her wolf. It has to be. But as winter nears, Sam must fight to stay human--or risk losing himself, and Grace, forever.
Move over Jacob Black! Someone else is going to take the werewolf spotlight away from you!
For the past month, I've heard much hype about this book everywhere on the internet. Once I read the blurb (that has been posted on everyone's blog and now officially on mine), it immediately lured me into the story, wanting for more. Luckily, I won an ARC of Shiver and right when it arrived in front of my front door, I delved into the pages. In a day, I finished reading and let me say three words before I say thumbs up or down: OH MY GOD.
Shiver lives up to the hype it's receiving, mixing in great, subtle action, teen lust and details that make you feel warm and cool. The world is surely loving the wrong werewolf. Sam is one of the reasons why the MUST is capitalized in: you MUST buy this book. All the characters are great and I understood each and everyone of them as if they are my friends. Also, here is a tip: I suggest you to read this in a cold room. The cold will make Shiver feel more real.
At times, the plot might run a little bit slow, but right when you start thinking that, it picks up again. Overall, I love it!
THUMBS UP ^^v
